Reese Witherspoon took her career seriously after enrolling first at Stanford University. Her early success was in movies like Pleasantville, Election and Legally Blonde. It was her performance in the role of Elle Woods in Legally Blonde's big-budget smash that truly set the stage for her career. Witherspoon was awarded one Academy Award, in 2005 in her role as Walk the Line. Water for Elephants: This Means War & Wild, and for both, she received the Oscar nomination. Witherspoon was born Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon on March 22 1976 at New Orleans Louisiana. The parents of Witherspoon are a medical doctor as well as a registered nurse. In the 2003 film The Invisible Man she had her debut feature-length character. After that, she appeared in a number of television shows such as House of Lies Whitney or Better Call Saul. In addition to her acting profession her appearances in films such as The Dictator or The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. She is a talented artist, and has also had her work displayed in many galleries.
